Fare & Service Changes Effective August 5, 2024
Unitrans fare and service changes for the 2024-2025 academic year are effective August 5, 2024 and focus on restoring pre-pandemic service levels and improving customer convenience. Unitrans will restore service frequencies to pre-pandemic levels as a top priority as driver staffing improves. Fare and pass prices are also increasing.
Fare Increase: The Unitrans cash fare is increasing from $1.25 to $1.50 starting Monday, August 5, 2024. Unitrans pass prices will increase over two years. Youth 18 and under, people 60 and older, and people with disabilities will continue to ride Unitrans fare-free with a valid free Unitrans pass.

Farmers Market Shuttle Pilot Program: Starting Saturday, September 28, 2024, Unitrans is relaunching the Farmers Market Shuttle between the Memorial Union Terminal and Downtown on all Saturdays during the academic year. The shuttle is fare-free and operates with a vintage London double decker bus every 30 minutes from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The pilot program will be evaluated in June 2025 to determine if the service should continue.
Memorial Union Night Service Improvements:
- A Line: Starting August 5, 2024, A line summer service trips will be added at 6:40 PM and 7:40 PM on Monday-Friday. On Monday-Thursday, A line trips will also be added at 9:10 PM and 10:10 PM.
- Starting September 25, 2024 when the UC Davis academic year resumes, the A, K, and M lines will have more evening service.
- A Line: To provide 30-minute service to/from campus to the Fifth Street corridor after 8:10 PM on weekdays during the academic year, the A line will depart the Memorial Union Terminal at 8:40 PM and 9:40 PM. Combined with the Z line schedule, the schedule will result in campus arrivals & departures on the A & Z lines at 8:10 PM, 8:40 PM, 9:10 PM, 9:40 PM, and 10:10 PM.
- K Line: The K line will have new Memorial Union Terminal departures at 8:35 PM and 9:35 PM on Monday-Thursday during the academic year.
- M Line: The M line will have new Memorial Union Terminal departures 9:10 PM and 10:10 PM on Monday-Thursday.
O Line Bus Stop Addition: Effective August 5, 2024, a new Unitrans O line bus stop is added to Pole Line Road southbound near Cambridge House Apartments,
